Uncle Lukman Hakim (Acik Man) and Yousef Imran |
How am I going to do that? As I said earlier I aspire to be living in the peaceful world. So as I see it the only way to realise my aspiration is through mutual understanding among the world populations. I mean each of us living in this beautiful world of ours must always remember that every one of us needs each other. We can not be living alone. I for one do not want to live alone. I think I cannot do that. I wouldn't . Look at my picture, I prefer to be photographed with some one that I love, my handsome uncle Lukman.
Sorry I have deviated a bit. But still relevant to my aspiration. How to make us understand one another? Of course through engagement. Without continuous engagement we will never been understood. No understanding no appreciation. No appreciation will create bad feelings in the forms of proud , ego and self centric because we thought along the line of self existence. We must know how to co-exist. So how to co-exist? I have a very simple answer to offer because I am the greenest, still very , very young.
My answer is I/we must have a good command in all the languages of all the people of the world. I know I am unrealistic in my approach. But thinking aloud nothing is impossible. If there is a will there is a way.
So now I am drawing up my own road map and my critical path analysis as tools in approaching the peaceful life in this beautiful world of ours.
By the way I must mention two important personalities who love, nurture and guide me. They are my beloved ummi Hazlin Azmira and my ayah Azrul Aswad.

Auntie Adell and Ahmad Naqib |
My big brother Yousef ( my cousin) wants a peaceful world to live in. I fully support his notion. I on my part shall do a bit to complement his efforts. How? I have my own source of reference towards that course. She is my auntie Adell. She guided me.
I choose to be flexible and adjustable in my approach towards a peaceful world. But I have to remind you before hand that to be flexible and adjustable not in the absolute term. I mean certain things we must be firm.
I give you few examples to clear the air. Your belief or to be specific your religion. Whatever taught by my religion I must adhere to. But it does not mean I must disrespect other religions. No. Their religions are theirs and mine is mine. Mutual respects are so vital if we were to dream a peaceful world. Of course I must have a deeper knowledge on my religion. And to understand other religions. That's what I meant flexible and adjustable but firm.
I must be kind and loving. To be kind to human beings and all that Allah has created for us in this world including our environments. I must love them all.
Another example is that I must be obedient to my parents that is my dad and my ummi. I must talk to them softly. Be nice to them. Do not make them feel down, upset, and sad because of my doings. Without them I am nothing, I can never see this beautiful world. Even I can never ever dream to 'kiss' the heaven if I disobey them. No , I pray to Allah so that I will be an obedient son. Allah blessed both my dad and my ummi.
Those three above are amongst things that I can not compromise. I must be firm.
Many things I choose to be flexible and adjustable. For example in terms of foods, costumes, colours, and many other things including language.
I can accept whatever foods served to me provided they are halal. Am I not flexible with that halal proviso? As I mentioned earlier as far as religion is concerned I can not compromise. But I like to eat European foods, Chinese foods , Indian foods and so on. Of course I do not forget my own foods. You know what? Foods prepared by my grandma greenish in colour which I take twice a day. Porridge made from the mixture of boiled rice, sliced chicken and spinach. Please contact my grandma for details.
Costumes? Look at my photo carefully and lovingly . See my picture . I was putting on my baju Melayu or Malay costumes. That was during Hari Raya a very special day. I am also wearing whatever clothings bought by my parents as long as they cover my 'aurat' or parts of my body which are only privy to certain people.
I like all sort of colours-black, brown, white, yellow and so on. No white people, no black people and no brown people in my dictionary. They are all my people and my friends.
I hope I have done my part to complement my big brother Yousef's aspiration- to live in a peaceful world of ours.
