Kids Always Tell The Truth and Nothing But The Truth

Mama mama I love you
Ayah ayah (dad) I love you two.
Nenek nenek (grandma) I love you.
Tokpa tokpa (granpa) I love you too.

Naqib running towards ayah (dad)
Those lyrics above are taught by us to Naqib our beloved small handsome charming boy. No problem for Naqib to repeat before us. We give him 100 over 100. He is not yet two.

We have also a Malay  version for the lyrics.

Naqib sayang mama (Naqib loves mama)
Mama sayang Naqib (Mama loves Naqib)
Naqib sayang ayah (Naqib loves daddy)
Ayah sayang Naqib (Dad loves Naqib)
Naqib sayang nenek (Naqib loves nenek)
Nenek sayang Naqib (Nenek loves Naqib)
Naqib sayang tokpa (Naqib loves grandpa)
Tokpa sayang Naqib (Grandpa loves Naqib).

And Naqib has no problem in singing it out especially when we play together in a game we called it 'lompat lompat' (jump).
Naqib and cousin Yousef  play a game called 'lompat lompat'.
Is he smarter? I don't know. But he is a normal boy. He listens and he says it out what he listen. You say bad things, he repeats the same things. So watch out, guard your toungue. Don't show bad manners, he will copy those manners. I believe all normal babies or children will do the same things.

I would like to share a few incidents taking place in his nursery.

There are teachers who are given the responsibilities to look after the kids. All are ladies. They are good and kind.

But looking after kids is not an easy and simple task. You must have interest and  you must like the job. You must always be calm and cool come what may, 'the kids havocs'. So patience is the key word if you ever dream to be a teacher of a nursery.

So, Naqib one of the students who is very possessive. Once he likes a teacher, he refuses to share with other kids. He sits on the lap of the teacher and never allow others even to be closer to the teacher. If the teacher breaks his rule, then Naqib starts crying.

And he cry and cry and cry

Of course the teacher tries her best to persuade him not to cry by telling stories or what ever means that could stop him from crying. Sometimes, things succeed. But some other times it won't work any more.

So what next? Teachers are human being. Further more they have to look after not only one kid but many. Their patience have limitation. The teacher concerned raised her voice saying "Diam. Jangan nangis" (Quite. Don't cry).

Back home, Naqib will repeat exactly what he heard in school, 'Diam. Jangan nangis', with raised tone. We all wonder why he said that because we never said such thing when he cries. So we asked him. "Teacher", came out from his mouth. Meaning it comes from the teacher.

I would also like to relate another story. On the way back home from school (nursery), we asked Naqib who is your teacher today. The answer is so surprising both my wife and I. "Teacher China. Dia sayang Aqib (A Chinese teacher. She loves me).

Naqib, the yet to be two years old boy knows the race of the teacher? That the teacher is a Chinese? Some one must have said something to that effect and Naqib heard that. Naqib knows nothing about someone race. And the interesting part is he said the teacher loves him.

My conclusion is only kids are the believable  and reliable witness who tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth. All judges must recognise this fact. Anyone does not believe it, please talk to Naqib.
