Mama 'on call'

"Don't cry Naqib mama will be back, Friday at five pm". What? Left home on Thursday at 7.30 morning and will be back Friday at 5 in the evening?  How many hours that would be? 22 hours non stop? I am not sure but I can only see mama after five on Friday. Huuuuu... I will miss my only drink, my special drink. What a poor boy like me. What shall I do, I mean the right thing to do? Write a memo to the UN telling them this is wrong. This is torturing, this is child whacking. Must stop immediately. Can I trust the UN to do the job?

Thursday, 22 December 2011. Early in the morning at 7.30 both mama and dad left house to their work places. Dad to Kuala Lumpur and mama to Putra Jaya Hospital. And at home were tokpa and nenek to take care of Naqib while their parents at work. 

From morning to eight pm, everything was as usual, manageable. Dad already back at five. So we had extra hands. We managed without any problem. Then came the real test. It was after eight in the evening. Naqib started crying. He refused to take milk from bottle. So we tried many times 'persuading' him without success. But finally because of too tired crying he fell asleep without any milk. We were so sad.

At eleven pm he woke up and again started crying. Three of us thinking hard how to overcome the feeding problem. He just refused and pushed our hands aside. Finally I got an idea.  I asked nenek to take a piece of biscuit and mixed it with milk. Then we started feeding Naqib. At first, he refused. But after so many attempts finally we succeeded. We were all happy including Naqib. No more crying.


I must say the three of us played our roles effectively in this special  episode . Nenek was the feeder, I was the actor playing so many actions to make Naqib happy and smiles. Naqib dad's was the man in charge of holding Naqib's hands. So the first feeding I should say a 'forced' feeding with love.

So we had gone through the first on call test. I suspect the same will happen again. Hope not.
